Introduction

Liboom is a Live Bookmarks Manager. The idea is to keep the addresses of your favorite sites stored on a web server, so they are available anywhere. Liboom saves the bookmarks in RSS files so they can be used with Mozilla Firefox's Live Bookmarks feature. Online storage comes in handy when you use Firefox on several computers (ex: home, office...).

Installation

Installation steps:

  • Unzip the contents of the zip file in a temporary folder.
  • Upload the contents of this folder to a new directory on your web site (ex: http://www.mysite.com/liboom/).
  • Visit this new location with Firefox to start using Liboom.

How to use Liboom

Once you have understood what the purpose of Liboom is, using it is pretty straightforward.

On the first page, click on the New file link to create a new RSS file.

In the New file page, type in a file name and then enter the bookmarks below. Click the Save link, the new file is created.

You can now see it in the main page. Use the icon on the right to add this file as a Live Bookmark in Firefox. Use the Edit link to add, change or remove bookmarks from it.

Notes

Liboom has been created to be used with Firefox, but it can be used with any browser supporting Live Bookmarks.

If you lose data by accident, you can recover the last saved version of your file in the backups directory. To access it, replace feeds by backups in your file's URL.
